Cambodia and Thailand Strengthen Ties with Signing of 5 MOUs

Thailand: On February 7th, 2024, the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand marked a significant step in strengthening their relationship by signing five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). Marking a significant step forward in the bilateral relations between the two nations.

A Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response, establishing a collaborative framework between the National Committee for Disaster Management of Cambodia and the Ministry of Interior of Thailand.

An agreement focusing on Education, Science, and Technology Cooperation, linking the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation of Cambodia with Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.

A Memorandum of Understanding designed to facilitate Transit Goods, involving the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia and the Thai Customs Department.

A collaborative understanding between the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and the Export-Import Bank of Thailand.

An agreement fostering closer ties between the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

These documents, signed in the spirit of "Strengthening Partnership for Peace and Prosperity," are set to bring forth mutual benefits for the populations of both countries. Moreover, they are expected to contribute to the overarching goals of peace, stability, and prosperity within the ASEAN region and beyond, reflecting the deep and enduring ties that Cambodia and Thailand share.
